Brave Users Can Now Redeem BAT for Real-World Rewards from Top Brands in the TAP Network

SAN FRANCISCO – March 10th, 2020 – Brave Software, makers of the innovative Brave browser which combines privacy with a blockchain-based digital advertising platform, and TAP Network, the Rewards-as-a-Service technology company, today announced that Brave desktop users can now redeem Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for real-world rewards offered by over 250,000 top brands and merchants in the TAP Network. The collaboration makes token utility redemption a reality for Brave users, and connects brands with an engaged consumer audience while respecting their privacy.

Brave pioneered a blockchain-based advertising model that gives 70 percent revenue share to users in the form of BAT. Brave’s 12 million monthly active users all have the option to opt in to Brave Rewards to view relevant privacy-preserving Brave Ads in exchange for earning BAT. Through this partnership with TAP, Brave users in the United States can redeem these earned tokens for gift cards from hundreds of top national brands, including travel partners such as American Airlines, Delta, Hotels.com, and Uber; dining brands including Starbucks, Domino’s, and Applebee’s; entertainment partners such as Xbox, Playstation, Hulu and HBO; and retail brands including Amazon, Apple, Target, Walmart and many more partners in the TAP Network. Users can also contribute to the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, World Wildlife Fund, and over one thousand charitable causes via the TAP Network; and coming soon, access to travel deals worldwide and exclusive entertainment experiences.

BAT redemption through the TAP network is available to Brave desktop users who have verified their wallet with Uphold. These users can connect their Uphold account to the TAP Network using OAuth, and then authorize TAP Network to provide various redemption options, without the need for additional registration beyond Uphold.
